What is Gold Vermeil?
For a jewel to be considered gold Vermeil, it must meet two conditions, that the base metal be Sterling Silver and that it be bathed in a layer of gold of more than 2.5 microns. It is sometimes also known as Silver Vermeil.
It is ideal for people with allergies to materials such as nickel, since they can wear these jewels without problem, since they are only made of these two noble metals.
