As pérolas Edison só foram descobertas nos últimos anos e representam uma inovação recente na categoria de pérolas de água doce. Em vez de cultivar essas pérolas com um enxerto de tecido como todas as outras pérolas de água doce, um núcleo é usado. Este é o método usado para cultivar as pérolas de água salgada mais exóticas. Os resultados são simplesmente incríveis.
As cores dessas pérolas são naturais e o brilho é tão intenso que é chamado de "metálico". Pérolas com tons de rosa só são encontradas dentro de pérolas de água doce, não há Ostras de Água Salgada capazes de criar pérolas com esses tons.
A forma semi-barroca faz com que a pérola não seja completamente uniforme, mas redonda a olho nu.
O colar é amarrado em seda com um nó entre cada pérola para evitar que se esfreguem e arranhem. O fecho em ouro 18 quilates está equipado com uma aba de segurança para que o colar esteja sempre protegido.
